Ngöble Bugle
The Ngöble Bungle, formally know as the Guaymie, represent almost 65 percent of the entire indigenous population of Panama. They inhabit the highlands of Bocas del Toro, Chiriqui and the plains of Verguas. Women dress traditionally in brightly colored gowns adorned with geometric shapes while men have adopted modern attire.
Their homes are modest hand built huts near rivers often near their farms. The majority of Ngöble Bungle peoples are farmers and fishers; raising dogs, cattle, chickens and pigs. Women often make chaquiras, beaded necklaces consisting of geometric shapes, to sell to tourists.
The Ngöble Bungle take great pride in their culture and customs holding several culturally important ceremonies a year. During the ceremonies of balseria, men wear elaborate costumes of exotic bird feathers and paint their faces in a combination of geometric shapes.
