What Our Students Say

We had a fabulous experience at the Casco Antiguo school. The teachers and staff were unbelievably friendly and helpful with everything. They made us feel like part of their family from the first day. I learned more during these 3 weeks of classes than I did during 4 years of classes in school. Most importantly, I gained a lot of confidence to practice my Spanish. I really enjoyed the free activities the school did every week; they gave me a great chance to meet other students and learn more about the Casco Viejo area. I would HIGHLY recommend this school! I can’t wait to come back.

I truly enjoyed my time at the school. The staff and instructors were friendly, open and committed to teaching Spanish. They were perfect hosts in a place I had never visited and helped me to feel welcome. The instructors were very knowledgeable of the language and the proper uses. They provided a variety of ways to learn, which I appreciated. We had the opportunity to present ourselves in Spanish, use flash cards, use computer programs and games that helped us to reinforce our learning. I was also impressed with the class size. If you want to hide out and learn Spanish, this is not the place for you. My largest class was 3 people, we all had to participate and support one another in our learning. I’m so impressed that I have already booked my stay for 2024 to continue my learning at Casco Antiguo Spanish School. Thanks for a great experience. Muy bien!

I was very nervous beforehand because I had zero Spanish background, but the week I spent at Casco Antiguo Spanish School was an absolute blast!!! Every staff member is extremely friendly, more than welcoming, and always had a smile. While I was there, the classes had three students at most, but many were one-on-one. This meant that your class, while based off certain guidelines, could be easily tailored to your learning style and specific needs!

Both of my teachers were incredibly patient as I struggled to learn the pronunciation rules on day 1, but very encouraging as I started to grasp more and more words! Rather than feeling pressured, they made it easy for me to joke with them in Spanglish and laugh off confusion or mistakes. While parts of the lessons are taught in a classroom, the staff is very passionate about getting outside, whether that means taking a trip to the lobby or the surrounding city blocks and oceanfront, to learn Spanish in more everyday settings. The classes were fun, packed with written exercises, discussion, and games! I am blown away with how much I picked up on in just one week!

The school also offers various afternoon activities after classes end for the day! I participated in all four, which consisted of a brewery tour, a salsa dancing lesson, a bike tour, and volleyball. I LOVED all of them!!!

My experience at Casco Antiguo Spanish School was amazing and I wish I could have attended classes even longer than I did!!!

My six year old daughter and I were on a ‘Girls only’ sabbatical and initially only doing 1 week of Spanish but stayed for 2 weeks. My daughter was enrolled in a private class and I was enrolled in a group beginner’s class which was great as they ran the classes around the same time. Luis and my daughter’s teacher Elsie were amazing they made the class environment creative, personal, exciting and fun. My daughter was very upset to leave. It really was a wonderful learning experience, a very professional and caring language school. The after class bike ride was so much fun and we definitely want to come back again.

While travelling through Panama I spontaneously decided to take a week of Spanish…and ended up taking four weeks!!! Walking into the school, I immediately felt welcome. The location itself is amazing, the classes are educational and fun, the teachers are very supportive and my fellow students ended up becoming friends.
Would recommend it to anyone seriously interested in learning Spanish and having a good time while studying!

I studied Spanish at Casco Antiguo Spanish School for 6 months and I had the best time. I took private classes twice a week and learned a whole lot more than I expected. I didn’t know any Spanish before I arrived and I am so glad for what I have learned. The school is located in the best part of the old town, has the best, most friendly and patient teachers and I would recommend this school to everyone! For the first time in life I have been enjoying going to school, even though my classes were early and I some times was very tired (…did I mentioned patient teachers?).

After doing my research of all the schools in the city – I picked Casco Antiguo Spanish School. Right from the start, they were the best in terms of working around my schedule, they always responded to all my email questions promptly and helped arrange the perfect set up for my lessons. The teacher that the school assigned was great. She was very patient (very important for someone who is a beginner) and taught very well. The entire team at CASS was very professional. I would recommend this school for anyone interested in learning Spanish.

A wonderful school with caring staff. I was there for 3 weeks, if it weren’t for responsibilities like work I would have attended indefinitely!
From day one we went out for part of the session to learn about local history and culture and to speak to locals. ( If you are shy, don’t worry. The locals I talked to were friendly and willing to help.)
The staff, even those not my teacher, greeted me every day and learned my name so know they care about you and want you to feel welcome.
I loved the extracurricular activities. I did the biking and volleyball. If you aren’t good at volleyball, don’t worry. Nobody got mad or made me feel bad when I messed up (which is often!!). It’s a fun way to hang out with staff and students and make connections while getting exercise. All skill levels accepted.
The classrooms are air-conditioned so if you aren’t accustomed to tropical weather you’ll be comfortable.
The pricing is very affordable. When I first signed up I was afraid I might get subpar quality based on the price but my concern was baseless.
I learned a lot, not just about Spanish but also Panamanian culture and history.
The area is very safe, even for solo females.

My daughters came here for 2 weeks and loved it! I couldn’t find a place for them as they’re 14 & 17 years old, but they were accepted here. Thanks! They started at colegios and hated them. This was perfect. I wish I had them attend classes here the entire time we were in Panama. I will recommend this school to others!
