The rainy season has officially returned, winter is here.  Here in Panama this means temperatures in the mid 80’s and often times hours of rain at time. All this rain makes all the folliage green, the streets are clean and the sweltering 90’s are a faint memory.

7. Visit the Canal Museum – Located just off Plaza Cathedral, the canal museum has a rotating exhibits and is a must see if you are in Casco Viejo.

5. Miraflores Locks – Ships pass through the canal 7 days a week, 24 hours a day ,rain or shine. Watch monstrous cargo ships transit the canal from the restaurant located inside and try and stay dry!

4. Take a Boxing Class – Top Level gym located in Casco Viejo offers a wide array of self defense and cross fit classes. Swing by, break a sweat and check them out!

3. Iglesia de San Jose – Famous for the “Altar de Oro” or Golden Altar dating back to the 1800’s is quite a site.

2. Museo de Ciencias Naturales – They first opened their doors in 1975 and have dedicated the last 30 years to educating and preserving the natural resources here in Panama.

1. Take a Spanish class- Come spend the afternoon here at the Casco Antiguo Spanish School brushing up on your Spanish.
