The Pan American Highway ends abruptly in the Dairen leaving travelers with only two viable options to reach Columbia: sailboat or airplane.

One way flights to Columbia are between $300 and $500 USD for a 1 hour flight. Or you can spend 5 days sailing through the crystal clear Caribbean waters, visiting the San Blas Island, Kuna people and sailing into Cartagena for about the same price.

There are over 13 boats that make the trip from Panama to Columbia running an average of two trips a month. Many local hostels offer bio’s on each individual sail boat. Each sail boat is different and offers a unique experience
