San Blas Islands
The San Blas Islands are a tropical paradise reminiscent of a screen saver. An archipelago comprised of about 378 islands lying just off the northern coast of Panama. 49 of the islands are inhabited by the Kuna Indians and are part of the comarca Kuna Yala.
San Blas is accessible by 4 x 4 Jeep, air plane, helicopter and boat. If you’re a little adventurous consider taking the 2 hour boat ride from Miramar to San Blas.
Many local tour companies offer transport to and from San Blas and most of the islands run as all inclusive packages providing breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as rustic cabanas located directly on the beach. If you want to learn Spanish and visit the San Blas Islands ask about our “Learn Spanish in the Islands” package!
The San Blas islands are a perfect tropical escape: calm, tranquil and breathtakingly beautiful. Well worth the extra effort to reach, consider making San Blas part of your trip to Panama.
