Spanish Classes in Panama
This morning we were featured in a blog about learning Spanish in Panama. Dan Woog, writer of the “06880” blog, interviewed David Gold, our Director, about the Casco Antiguo Spanish School.
The articles touches on many of the things we find important here at the Casco Antiguo Spanish School. Dan writes about our love for the community that is Casco Viejo and our dedication to improving the area.
This week were were lucky enough to have our first student volunteer, Trey. We are very excited to work on developing the volunteer program here at the school. We want to get our students, tourist or resident, involved in improving the community that we love so much.
Trey is currently volunteering at Aprojusan a children’s after school program. They advertise art workshops but they provide so much more. They provide a complimentary safe environment where the children are nurtured. They are fed lunch provided with medical check ups and one on one attention. Today, Trey is making Valentines Day cards with a group of about 20 kids. Aprojusan is located in our building and we look forward to continuing to provide them with volunteers and help them improve their already wonderful program.
We are lucky to live in such a supportive community. The residents of Casco Viejo have given so much to us in the short time that we have been open. It is our goal, our dream, to give back to the community what it so clearly deserves. In the words of David, Casco Viejo is “excting and vibrant… beautiful and historic yet modern.”
